MEET THE STAFF
Charlie Johnson
Charlie Johnson has been a psychotherapist, a video documentary
producer, an improvisational comedian and even the CFO of
a small healthcare company. Gradually he transformed from
a Shrink into an Expander by combining 22 years of problem
solving experience and 10 years of studying (and performing)
Improvisational comedy into an organizational development
model that substantially increases creative collaboration
in the workplace.
This collaborative change model, Creativity Engineering,
frames the development of innovative spontaneity, team building,
and increased problem solving skills within an atmosphere
of positive humor, laughter and validation. Participants
on three continents have delighted in Johnson's ability
to enable them to approach risk, change, and conflict in
a unique and productive way. His dynamic adaptation of the
rules and structures of Improv serve the dual needs of improving
the organization's performance while enhancing and sustaining
a viable corporate community.
Charlie continues to be active in the psychotherapy community,
publishing articles and book chapters. His revolutionary
new book on health and healing, Recrafting a Life,
was published in 2002. He trains health professionals
in U.S., Europe and Australia. The organization he founded,
The Solution Group, has been featured on CBS Television's
48 Hours.
In addition to designing systems to aid individuals and
organizations, Johnson has written, produced, and directed
documentaries that have appeared on broadcast, cable, and
public television. His production, This Child is Not
Alone, continues to be shown throughout the United States.
Finally, Johnson has been a founding member of the performing
Improv groups, Four Chairs No Waiting and Point
of Improv.
